Hey everyone! I'm new to the board but I've been checking out posts for a while here in the picture post area. Since there aren't any, I think it'd be a great idea to post buddy icons for instant messaging programs here.

btw, jimlover and Unchained, where did you get the avatars? I'd love to have a wallpaper of Unchained's avatar.

Buddy icons are little pictures you use in instant messaging programs, like msn messenger or aol instant messenger. Similar to avatars, only smaller and used when chatting w/someone.

ok notice how under my username on this site/forum I have a picture of Jim Carrey with a hat on under carreypunkrawker. That's an Instant Messenger icon but it's an avatar on this. an Instant Messenger Icon and an avatar are pretty much the same thing. got it?

Yeah, buddy icons and avatars are similar, only buddy icons are smaller. You can't really use most avatars on aim because they look kinda blurry.
