Re: Jim Carrey, Horror Movie 'Aleister Arcane'
Just a brief update. A month ago, on twitter, through a private message, i asked Jon Croker, the man who has been hired to write the script for Aleister Arcane what's the status of the project, and he said to me that „he's just about to begin writing the script”.
So i guess he's working right now
. Considering that he has already the material (those 3 comic books), i think this should be an easy writing. I believe it's possible a shooting start date next autumn, for a release in 2018 on Halloween. I don't know, for me this sounds like a perfect Halloween movie.

Based on the comic, this would be the perfect Halloween release indeed.

His creativity is genius
I recently watched
The Love Guru movie with Mike Meyers
I thought about
How differently it would have been
If Jim had assisted on this one
Its PG 13

I just watched Napoleon Dynamite
And was comparing financial statistics
ND production cost is very different from LG
But the gross sales were comparable
ND. Was PG
I think AA can be amazing
Timely for Halloween 2018
I favour PG
ET had cliff hanging scary moments
Id like to see that with AA
Just the right
Adventure, kids cooperative, team work
And intrigue and characters

Well Jayne, if they stay true to the comics, this won't be as harmless as -for example- Goosebumps or something like that. This might be quite gore-ish. Having Eli Roth his work in mind, I don't think they will tone that down. But in the end... I don't know. With studios taking no risks these days, it might be PG13.
In other news, I believe this film project is more concrete than we realize at this point. Since the new cover for the whole story says this at the top :

I'm getting very excited for this one, great choice for Jim.

I already had the impression when the previous recent pictures showed up, but these new premiere pics make me kinda sure of it : His hair is growing for the Arcane role. At least, I think so. It' looks almost exactly like it should. Only not grey yet. #hopeful

Re: Jim Carrey, Horror Movie 'Aleister Arcane'
I did read bits and pieces of it, as someone threw some pages online a while ago. (already deleted) I'm not going to read the rest before seeing the movie.
I would say this has the fun-aspect of Goosebumps, but for a grown-up audience only. 16+, imo. I mean, it's not just horror in a serious way only, it's horror of the amusing kind. And it's filled with dark humor, a bit mean spirited sometimes. At least, that's how I experienced it. Most sites have the 'drama' tag on it. Which I can understand, it is some kind of a tragic story. On the other hand, when I think of some graphic moments, this will be quite disgusting to watch at times too. Some moments I would describe as visually equal to -for example- 'The Thing'. And if they don't tone this down, it will be scary, no doubt. A mix we don't see very often anymore. As for the character, I was actually rooting for Aleister Arcane, even if he was the villain.
It's the perfect Halloween release !
And Jim ... oh man, this is just perfect casting.

Well ... There goes my theory.grinchy steve wrote:Jim Carrey without the beard in LA, still having that haircut, ... This is happening guys!(I hope I'm not wrong, hèhè)

Your theory can still be right grinchy steve.
That photo was not from yesterday (from 2014). The 60-minutes long interview was a phone interview. He talked about he would make more movies, but did not mention which one was next on his list.
