I love both of the Ace's! But in a life and death situation I'd pick Ace 2 as it is really funny SPOILERS *I just love the shadow puppet bit! * LoL! But don't get me wrong as Ace 1 is a great film and I love Tom Shadyac movies .. he is a great director!

I've had some pretty heated arguments with friends over which Ace is the better of the two.

I like both of them!! But I do like Ace 1 a bit better, because it's the original. Ace 2 had it's funny parts, but some were just taken from the first one. And the first one was set in Miami; Africa takes away the suburban element..... whatever you call it. Don't get me wrong, I still love Ace 2!!

I used to think that when nature calls was better, but then i realised that it was mostly funny because you knew the character.

Ace PD had to introduce you to his world so it had to have less funny elements. Although the bits with the slinky and the spears are hilarious in WNC i think in general PD is a better movie. The comedy in it is generally more planned and i think it gives a better insight into the character.

Its a shock that both of them are good if you ask me, because sequels are normally rubbish. Actually thats a lie, because some sequels are really good, terminator, toy story, ghostbusters...

But the ones with decent sequels are normally ruined with a crappy third in the series....

I enjoyed both, but I liked the first one better. I didn't like the fact that Courteney wasn't in the second one and that Tom wasn't directing. I also thought that the story was better in the first one, but I thought that Ace was funny with the tribesmen in the second one.

Are there any on the set "Ace Ventura When Nature Calls" interviews with Jim Carrey? I'd love to see some of those if there are any! Thanks!

second one has the slinky scene, and also the spear in the legs scene.

Seriously it is the simple things that make me laugh.

But there was more of ace as a character in the first one. plus the plot was just funnier.

my 3 favorite scenes in ace 2

1. bumble bee tuna scene
2. slinky scene
3. the one where he said the natives didnt take shikaka then hes like hi welcome back

I saw WNC first, so I became attached to that one before I saw the first one I like When Nature Calls better. but its a real close contest.

Ace 1 is less contrived and more natural, there are even sensitive glimpses where Ace seems to drop his facade...........and i love all the animals in the flat.........
But forced and contrived though it is, Ace 2 really plays for straight laughs........i almost passed out laughing at the raccoon and slinky bits............and as for the Rhino bit........lol..........well if Jim gets his kit off i'm a happy bunny........even if he has to plop out of a rhinos bum!
