It was the mules that did it. I saw a pair of unworn mules on the floor next to your bare feet so I assumed they were for me.

Don't understimate the size of children's feet these days... My friend's daugther is 9 and her shoe size is 7 US...
... so it depends on other dimensions as you said above!
Oh by the way my shoe size is 9 US (maybe 6 1/2 UK) ... but no mules please (I cannot walk on them...)
... I love boots, though...
