OK...since i've been away so long - thought i'd get up on my soap box right away.

i just read the first article about pranayama. very interesting, great article. he totally has valid points. i completely get the fact that the entity "God" could the same one for every religion. organized religions were set up so that there could be some sort of "control" over the people. what better way to "control" someone than to bring in punishment in the afterlife if there is disobedience here on earth! i believe in God...i just don't believe in religion (can you tell? LOL)

he had a great idea about helping others to an extent where maybe it cuts into our own materialistic ways. i love that idea! however, the sceptic in me doesn't see this view going very far in the US. religion = big money. (remember the WWJD bracelets? - i don't think jesus would wear one!) and although we do hold benefit concerts for hurricane, flood and tsumai victims and charities, first we buy our starbucks on the way to the show. NOW BEFORE YOU CRUCIFY ME - that doesn't go for everyone of course, there are some really wonderful generous people out there who give of their time and money but being in the enterainment business has made me a bit jaded to the commercialism of giving. America likes convenience and if that means that we go to church, get forgiven and still are able to have our million $$ homes, hummers and big bank accounts while we watch starving children in africa - so be it - i'll send my 80 cents a day and that makes it better, right?

sorry, got side tracked there...wouldn't it be nice if we all COULD get along. all religions living in harmony knowing that my god, is your GOD, etc. unfortunately, i don't see that happening. besides "looking out" instead of "in" there must be knowledge (which he talked about) i'm afraid in our lifetimes, we will not see this kind of learning taking place. one main thing he leaves out of this "seeking" and knowledge receiving is human nature. we are only slightly more evolved than animals (that whole thumb thing LOL) and we demonstrate the same type of primal urges, love, hate, fear etc. these things all cause us to react in a certain way that may not be "enlightened"

his concept is sooo good. i wish that all who read about it could grasp it but i'm afraid that too takes knowledge and an open heart and mind.

nope............i found it interesting too..........but it's such a complicated thing you really need to sit down late into the night with like minded people to discuss it...........over a glass of wine.......in front of a coal fire...........by candlelight...............

Please, can someone tell me how to do? I want to be a member of the religion that one of my mentors practice. The name of my mentor is Tom Cruise. Is there someone who knows where I can find material about his religion and how I will do to become a member?

Tom is a Scientologist. I'm sure they have a website.

Okey, do you think it is hard to become an Scientologist? I heard Tom talk about that religion in a interview and I think that it is interesting. I really want to study that religion. Tom Cruise is my biggest mentor if I don´t count Jim Carrey.

Well...a lot of people think Scientology is a cult, not a religion. But I don't know. Many members seem pretty happy. If I remember right apparently Jim and Nick Cage checked it out and didn't like it.

But I don't know. One thing I *do* know is that you shouldn't subscribe to a religion just because someone else does. Shop around and see what works for you and strikes you as true.

I grew up in a church where religion was no fun and all serious. I have been introduced to more liberals form of Christianity and even reading The Book Of Mormon.

But as I've said before, I'd like to hug the Dalai Lama...I find all religions fascinating and at their core loving, not violent.
