Well, that's a bummer if you do get laid off. BUT, if it does happen, then fate has dictated it is time for you to work elsewhere. You'll get another job if you want one. A better one. :D

Btw, thanks for the 'Congrats' everyone. You're very kind. Haven't handed my resignation in at the Police yet, as I'm waiting for the official letter to come through the post. (Let's hope I didn't dream getting the job offer! Lol) I have told everyone though.

Speaking of my current job, tomorrow I'm manning the whole darn office myself as people have either left, gone on maternity leave, are on leave or are yet to start work in our dept.
One person doing the job of many. AGAIN! Good job I don't stress easy.

That's great KC and Eskarpin!

Today, I feel somewhat limited by my surroundings. Like I have this ball of energy I want to release on the world, to do whatever I can to change it. . . only I'm stuck here at my job. . . typing to people I'll probably never get to meet. I feel so. . . limited.

You're under-utilised Mr J, that's what.
I've felt like that for a while in my current job - hence the upgrade!
But that's just work.....if you feel like you could give more in other ways....well you need to work out how best to do that. I can just see you as a giving person. I can tell that from thousands of miles away you know!
You could volunteer somewhere if you can spare the time. I have done that and you get so much back....

Oh, congrats on keeping the job KC, and I'm happy you're in the right place Eskarpin!

My day manning the office alone was.....busy, but totally under control. 8) I have to confess I did rather thrive on being the one person keeping the place going today. I think I'm a bit sad that way.....

Good job news!!!

Me..I shopped...it was fun. I have done a few things around the apartment, but next - I vacuum.

Dozens of innocent fuzzballs will be eaten by the Hoover before they've even had the change to roll into the hallway.
