a vest is the sleeveless low necked t-shirt blokes wear under shirts.......usually reserved for the elderly here.........

Either that or muscle bound gym poseurs.........y'know the type.....they flex their muscles in front of the gym mirrors.......ewe.........

But mushy peas!!!!............Yuk!!!!...........I've never liked those......irradiated within an inch of their little lives then mushed into a can..... ..........
But i ADORE peas in a peapod.............i eat them like sweets in the summer......you get a big bag then pod them and shovel them down your throat.........washed down with an ice-cold drink in the summer sun..........AAAAhh...............it's heaven in a pod!!!!!

but more importantly.....did you like the mushy peas ??.....lots of people in the Uk love them.....(and jellied eels......eeewwwee.........yuk yuk yuk!!)

i like the term "vest" for the undershirt. it is better than what they call them in the southern US, which is "wife-beaters" and they are usually worn alone as a "fashion statement".
