Sonic the Hedgehog Delayed Until 2020
26 May 2019

By Lucas Allen (Web correspondent)

It looks we’ll have to wait a little longer to see Jim Carrey back on the big screen and taking on a blue hedgehog.

The upcoming "Sonic the Hedgehog" movie has been moved to a later date for Valentine’s Day 2020. The film’s director Jeff Fowler took to Twitter to confirm the new date citing an extra three months of work to complete the visual effects. This is due in no part to the teaser trailer released just a month ago to overwhelming negative reviews because of the new look of the title character that many people deemed it “ugly” and “horrifying.”

It was after the reactions that the director wrote on Twitter, “Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast”

In the meantime, we have season 2 of Kidding to look forward to this fall before the new year and anticipation will be mounting.

We at JCO will keep you posted as more news come.
