Still getting Smart
19 Aug 2001 To anyone who thought the "Get Smart" project was long gone and forgotten (we did) here's some interesting news, found by our correspondent Wesley Hofmann on San Jose Mercury News. More exactly on Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith in Hollywood column.
The project is in fact alive and kicking, and producer Andrew Lazar told the columnists that "we're close to a good script." Still according to the producer "We're not in a rush, because we have the rights. Nobody else can do a 'Get Smart' movie, so it's not something we're going to lose- and we want to get it right. There's been talk of Jim Carrey, an idea we'll certainly revisit, because he'd be great. Ben Stiller is also a great idea."
