It would be amazing if he will accept this role . There are so many good things about this.

1. Will work again with Nicolas Cage. He said many times that he would like to act again with his good buddy.
2. The first one was a box office hit (budget: 28 mil.$, total: 96 mil. $)
3. The first one has very good reviews from the critics. (76 % Rotten Tomatoes)
4. Has a supporting character, so i don't think he will be on the set more than a month.
5. I understand he's a fan of the original film (2010)

so please Jim...accept this role Make your fans happy.

I'd pay to see "Dumb and Dumber To" (probably multiple times.) I'm not so sure about this. I wasn't a huge fan of the original. It looks like they're looking for a June 2013 release date, so if Jim signs on, I guess it wouldn't get in the way of D&D2 since they don't plan to start filming until May/June.

Jim Carrey is reportedly in talks to play an important supporting role in the upcoming Kick-Ass sequel — specifically, a superhero named The Colonel who helps inspire the rest of the would-be heroes to stand up to the now villainous Red Mist, who it really must be pointed out has renamed himself The Motherfucker this time around. Carrey's potential part is likely based on Colonel Stars, who in the comics is "Sal Bertolinni, a former mob soldier-turned-born again Christian superhero who forms the Justice Forever team before running afoul of Red Mist."

Maybe Jim will make a compromise and will not ask more money...after all is just an extended cameo

I liked Kick-Ass, being a fan of the comics. Although I thought it should have been darker and more violent. The movie version was a bit ... childish at some levels actually. I think Jim Carrey would work in this one. It has a comedic level and Cage was great on that level, I think our man would be perfect to create the same vibe.
