I'm repulsed by the crazy people who would make such stuff up but I'm REALLY annoyed at the people who spread it around social media. The exact same story re: snowboarding was going around about him in 2011.
I don't know if he checks his Twitter mentions (I really hope not) but some idiots were tweeting pictures of him with RIP photoshopped onto them. WTF is wrong with these idiots?

It is a hoax. Of course.
And I really don't like the whole reference to it in the thread title - it's horrible, especially seeing as there's a thread about it already.
As I said, he's fine and this sick freaky hoax story first went round in 2011. He's not in Switzerland, he's in NYC - someone I follow on Twitter met him yesterday.
I can't imagine how creepy and freaky it is to get RIP tweets from people about yourself, so I really hope he doesn't read any of them.
FFS, this is why we can't have nice things or interesting people.

But, unfortunately I found a solution that works for every artist.
Next time you see a rumor go to the TMZ website.
I don't like doing it...
I'm scared to see his name there but
when it comes to bad news (epecially artists deaths), that damn website is the best.
If it's not there, it's not true.

That's nice that he's in New York. He must be there for a personal appearance.
I always knew that it was a hoax. Yes, I hope he doesn't read them either.
If he read any of them, he's probably pretty upset and hurt about it.
I would love to meet him someday, I hope he comes to Dallas, Texas someday, if he ever did come here, I would make some effort to see him and meet him.
