It didn't do what a typical Jim Carrey comedy for a huge audiance normaly does when released in the summer. Nobody is acting like it did realy bad. And those lines they use in tv-commercials are totaly out of context and/or are missing the little words that should be with it.

I'm glad it's doing a better job (as predicted) in the rest of the world ... and it still has to be released (indeed) in some important countries, box-office-wise.

"Mr. Popper's Penguins" fared well in a string of second place launches behind the Harry Potter finale, opening in France on $2.8 million from 444 screens, Mexico on $2.4 million from 692 screens, Spain on $1.3 million from 358 sceens and placed third in Argentina on $724,423 from 77 screens. An $11.9m weekend for Mr Popper’s Penguins from 3,877 screens in 46 markets for a $57.2m running total.

Very good numbers from Brazil, Australia and Mexico! Intesting with the UK release this week. It should be able to gross $10-15 million there the coming weeks.

The comedy added $1.6 million in the UK from 471 screens for $6.9 million after two weekends and has amassed $8.1 million in Mexico, $12.7 million in Australia after six weekends, and $6.3 million in France after four weekends.

I'm glad it's doing what I expected it to do in Europe!

For example : Belgium -> It opened 2 weeks ago in 3th place (Smurfs and Planet/Apes are in first place) making $404,455. Also opening were "Captain America", "Horrible Bosses" and "Conan the Barbarian", Mr. Popper scored better then all 3 of them.

Last week it went up by +10.7% and made $447,846. That's more than the opening week. Splendid! It also replaced "Planet/Apes" on number 2 and beated the opening movies of that week ("Cowboys & Aliens", "Final Destination 5", "One Day") ... I would say that's great. When I compare it with other blockbusters, Popper is doing fine.
