Tony Orlando and Dawn were singers that had their own variety show in the 70's Tony often got picked on by the Dawn girls and they did sketches that were very funny.

While watching these video's, I was in the following state :

Besides the gun issue, this is another example about what's wrong in the US. It's amazing what the media can do, that just ain't right. Those are not news shows, those are total subjective people twisting stories around and presenting them as news. Only in America. I noticed before that (for example items about Irak) in the US you never get the whole and/or real story and a lot of the actual facts are missing. Hell, there are a lot of things happening you will never see overthere, cause it's blocked by the people behind those channels. That makes me sick. They are rude, very unrespectfull and It's selective news, trying to influence everyone. "Free country?" My man, that's hilarious.

Here (and in most of European countries) something wrong like that would be just ... unthinkable. Real new anchors keep their opinions for themselves during the news. They bring facts, objective facts. That's what news is about. I'm actually proud of the (prize winning) news show we have. They are classy, respectfull and bring the facts as they are. Nothing more, but sure nothing less. No matter what. If they have to shoot their own channel in the foot by bringing something (for example) a scandal where the owner of the channe is involved, that's fine. And the owner of the channel wouldn't be able to stopt that. It's the news as it is. There's a law for that.

It's just ... I just can't believe what happens in the US on TV.

Btw, I'm with Jim about this issue. I have that opinion for many many years now, the lack of laws in the US is just ... (sorry for the word) ... retarted. And I don't understand that after all those incidents (small and big), still nothing happens. It's just crazy. We don't have those gun-incidents overhere in such amazingly high percentages. In fact, there was a docmentary about that, in the US that percentage is 80% higher than in countries where the laws are far more tight about guns. Guess why. Will they ever learn?

i'm with You 100% Steve........i'm from the UK & you know how our gun laws roll.....there are some things i can't understand about the USA though......like the reticence to adopt social healthcare and the gun laws........
