Memorable Moment: Carrey on Letterman (1991)
20 Dec 2009

By Lucas Allen (Web correspondent)

In 1991, Jim Carrey made an appearance on 'The Late Show with David Letterman', which he said he made his previous appearance five years ago. Carrey talks about "In Living Color" including his character Fire Marshall Bill, which drew some controversy at that time mainly when Jim mentioned there was a Fire Marshall in New Jersey who was laughed at by kids in school because of his face.

Then Jim talked in his “nature” accent about being in Canada, even mentioned Dave’s band leader Paul Schaffer as his “Canadian brother.” Finally, Jim talked about being “culture-shocked” after moving to Los Angeles including looking for a bible.
