Jim Carrey at the Oscars
27 Mar 1997 As you perhaps already know, Jim Carrey was at the Oscars® as a presenter of the Visual Effects Award and his appearance was undoubtedly one of the show’s best moments.
Carrey entered stage, walked to the microphone, stood there with his arms stretched in the "Liar, Liar" poster’s pose and after a carefully timed moment said:
"And how was *your* weekend? ............. Mine was gooood."
It was a masterfully done innuendo to "Liar, Liar"’s success at the weekend box-office that, just earlier in the day, Carrey learned had finished first, with a staggering official result of 31.4 million dollars for only three days and an average profit of 11.045 dollars per screen.
