Great opening for "Anchorman 2"

The box office results are in for the new movie with Jim Carrey we can enjoy during the christmas holiday. "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues", co-starring Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, David Koechner, Kristen Wiig, Christina Applegate, Meagan Good and many guest appearances including of course our Jim Carrey, who are part of a Canadian News Team.
The comedy opened big on Wednesday with $8.1 million including $2.3 million from Tuesday night previews. That amount dropped to $5.1 million on Thursday. By the weekend, it came in at second place behind last week's no. 1 movie, "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug".
Over the weekend, Anchorman 2 grossed $26.8 million and for the first five days $40 million! That amount is nearly half the gross of the original movie and it should continue to do well through the Christmas holiday. Also internationally, it had a strong opening.
