Jim Carrey Pays Tribute to Val Kilmer: "A Generational Talent"

By Tommy Pihl (Editor-in-Chief)

Jim Carrey today shared a heartfelt tribute to his "Batman Forever" co-star, Val Kilmer, who tragically passed away yesterday at the age of 65. In his tribute, Jim took a moment to reflect on Kilmer’s incredible legacy, not only as a talented actor but also as a man of great strength and character.

In his statement, Jim Carrey said:

“I’m remembering Val Kilmer today with great admiration for him as a man and as a generational talent who left us an enviable legacy of indelible acting performances. His greatest artistic achievements were rivaled only by the grace and courage with which he endured his life’s most challenging moments. Wishing his family so much love.”

Jim Carrey and Kilmer worked together on "Batman Forever" in 1995, where Jim played the eccentric Riddler and Kilmer portrayed the iconic Batman. The movie, a commercial success, showcased their unique chemistry, with Kilmer’s more reserved Batman balancing Jim’s over-the-top villainy. Their collaboration left a lasting impression on fans and Hollywood alike.

Beyond his remarkable movie career, Kilmer’s strength in facing personal struggles—particularly his battle with throat cancer—left a profound mark on those who knew him. Jim’s tribute highlights not only Kilmer’s talent but the courage with which he navigated life’s challenges.

Val Kilmer’s legacy as a versatile actor and a resilient figure will never be forgotten. As Jim noted, his artistic contributions and the grace with which he faced adversity will continue to inspire.

Rest in peace, Val. Your legacy endures.
