Excuse me..............SCI-FI????????..............i think they've used artistic licence there.............just because it was about erasing a memory does not SCI-fi make...............
These film biddies don't appear to know their *rs* from their *lb*w......... SIGH................ FLUFFS ![]()
Sci Fi -I actually thought ESOSM was a movie that crossed catagories, to see it in SCI FI catagory doesn't surprise me. That's what made the movie so interesting. Sci Fi is subjective... mind erasing is a mind blowing idea! How many love affairs have you had that you wish you could forget, or recreate? (you could throw a little Bruce and talk about 'free will')
After I saw the movie, I read an article about the possibility of using memory erase techniques (for real, y'all!) on people with "post traumatic stress disorder" in order to treat it!
I think that's fantastic. I feed off past trauma though, so I'm not a candidate. "When in doubt, tell the truth."
Mark Twain
euch......................i'll never be able to look at a KFC in the same light again.........
speaking of that we recently had a really horrible murder case.......the bloke murdered his victim then removed his brain......when the police raided the house he was gently frying the brains in butter.... when asked why? he replied......'because it makes them taste better'........not the answer the police were expecting............euch........ ![]() fluffy ![]()
lol.....................SSSScccccclllllluuuuurrrrpppp!!!..............
i wonder if he drunk Chianti when he was tucking in........?? i'll stop this now!!!..............lol.........'go to your happy places'.....lol fluffs ![]()
I was thinking about this and now I wonder if the treatment might not be worse than the problem. But, then again, some people are absolutely crippled by trauma. Hm. "When in doubt, tell the truth."
Mark Twain
My friend committed suicide and his parents found him in a gruesome scene. They were severely traumatised: couldn't sleep, couldn't eat, were afraid to leave the house because they didn't want to answer the questions, overwhelmed by grief. It was like they were in shock but not being able to snap out of it. The Mother found out about the memory erase technique and signed her and her husband up for the treatment. It doesn't literally erase memories, but it seems to reduce the stress of trauma and help cope with the reality. It really helped them to learn to grieve without reliving the nightmare.
She asked me if she could handle watching ESOTSM, I loaned her my copy and she loved it. She said she wished they could really erase the trauma, but then she would be afraid of losing all the memories of her son in the process.
